Tad Oliphant Construction has been serving the Oregon Coast since 2015. With over two decades of experience in coastal construction, we understand the unique challenges that salt air, heavy rainfall, and Pacific storm winds present to structures in this region.

We work with both composite decking (such as Trex and TimberTech) and pressure-treated wood. For the Oregon Coast, we typically recommend composite materials because they resist moisture, mold, and salt-air corrosion far better than untreated wood. We'll help you choose the right material based on your budget, aesthetic preferences, and exposure level.

Common signs include soft or spongy wood, discoloration, peeling paint, a musty smell, or visible fungal growth. On the Oregon Coast, dry rot is especially common around window frames, door thresholds, deck posts, and anywhere wood contacts moisture regularly. If you suspect rot, we offer inspections to assess the extent of the damage before it spreads.

Yes. For projects that require building permits in Lincoln County, we handle the entire permitting process. This includes submitting plans, scheduling inspections, and ensuring all work meets current Oregon building codes. You don't need to visit the permit office yourself.

Most standard deck builds take one to two weeks from start to finish, depending on size, complexity, and weather conditions. Larger projects with custom features, stairs, or multiple levels may take longer. We provide a timeline estimate before starting and keep you updated throughout the build.

In most cases, yes. We work with a wide range of siding materials and can often source matching profiles and colors for partial repairs. If an exact match isn't available due to discontinued products or weathering differences, we'll discuss your options, which may include replacing siding on an entire wall section for a seamless appearance.

Yes. The Oregon Coast gets rain year-round, and waiting for a dry stretch would mean very little gets built. We plan around weather windows, use tarps and temporary protection when needed, and schedule moisture-sensitive work for drier days. Interior projects like kitchen and bathroom remodels continue regardless of weather.

We typically collect a deposit to secure your spot on our schedule and order materials, with the balance due upon completion. For larger projects, we may set up progress payments tied to specific milestones. Everything is outlined in your contract before work begins - no surprise charges or hidden fees.

Yes. We stand behind our craftsmanship and offer a workmanship warranty on all projects. In addition, many of the materials we use carry their own manufacturer warranties - for example, most composite decking comes with a 25-year or lifetime limited warranty. We'll explain the specific warranty coverage for your project during the estimate.
